WXPW 91.9 FM
91.9FM was created to improve reception of WXPR Public Radio and the Ideas Network of Wisconsin Public Radio in the Wausau Area. Rather than compete for the only available FM frequency left in the area, WXPR and Wisconsin Public Radio share 91.9FM. The frequency is designated WXPW when operated by WXPR, and WLBL when operated by the state network. 91.9FM broadcasts from a repeater to listeners within a 20-mile radius of Rib Mountain. WXPR's programming can be heard on 91.9FM Sunday from 6am to 5pm, Monday through Friday from 6pm to midnight and all day Saturday. Due to this joint effort that is unique in public broadcasting. WXPW brings central Wisconsin listeners classical, jazz, polka, bluegrass, folk and new age music, news programming like NPR's Weekend Edition and Weekend All Things Considered and special programs such as Car Talk, Marketplace Money, World Cafe and World Radio Network.
