Welcome to the WXPR Blues Calendar, where we highlight LIVE blues shows coming to the Northwoods and beyond.
Thursday, August 26th,
Eric “Scrappie” Hughes, the hardest working man on Beale Street., brings his authentic delta blues to The Glass Hat Bar, in Wausau. Memphis-style barbecue will be available.
Friday, August 27th,
Eric Scrappie Hughes will perform at The Rustic Roadhaus, in Manitowish Waters.
And The Bill Lupkin Blues Band performs at the Terrace Bay Inn, in Gladstone, Michigan. Lupkin performed with Jimmy Rodgers and Howlin’ Wolf.
Saturday, August 28th,
The Everett Smithson Band appears at the Black Bear Bar in Minocqua.
The Groove Hogs and Meantooth Grin perform at the Peshtigo Blues Festival.
And Eric Scrappie Hughes will play an evening show at Wiseguys, in Woodruff.
Sunday, August 29th,
Deepwater Reunion and Meantooth Grin appear in the Mickey Larson Memorial Bike Show and Blues Bash, at The Motorcycle Riders Depot in Schofield.
Red, White and Blues appears at the Porcupine Press’ 21st birthday bash in Chatham, Michigan.
And Dr. Duke Tumatoe plays Art Street, in Green Bay.
September 3rd through 5th,
The Marquette Area Blues Society’s annual Blues Fest returns. The lineup includes Fast Eddie’s Blues Band, Teeny Tucker and Her Big Band, Candye Kane, Moreland & Arbuckle and Ronnie Baker Brooks.
Saturday, September 4th,
Sue DaBaco and Wise Fools play the Black Bear Bar, in Minocqua.
And The Jerry Henry Band plays The Thunderbird Bar’s annual street dance in St. Germain.
Sunday, September 5th,
Sue DaBaco and Wise Fools move to Rock Island Resort, in Merrill.
September 10th through 14th,
Nick Curran and the Lowlifes perform a series of free shows at Oneida Casino, in Green Bay.
Saturday, September 11th,
Highway 414 appears at The Black Bear Bar in Minocqua.
And the Older Budweiser Blues Band plays the Intermission Bar, in Wausau.
September 16th through the 19th,
Here comes the Harley-Davidson Fall Ride.
On Friday September 17th,
Sue DaBaco and Wise Fools play Billy Bob’s in Tomahawk.
The Nitecaps play the Black Bear Bar in Minocqua.
And Howard Guitar Luedtke and Blue Max appear at Pik’s Pub in Tomahawk.
Friday and Saturday, September 17th and 18th,
The Paramount Blues Festival cuts loose in Grafton. Featured acts include Zac Harmon, Grana’ Louise, Lil’ Ed and the Blues Imperials, Eric Noden and Joe Filisko, The Dennis Jones Band and Leroy Airmaster, featuring Steve Cohen and Jim Liban.

Bobby Evans returns to The Black Bear Bar in Minocqua.
And BAM Fest returns to Belleville. Tommy Herrero, Carlos Johnson, Alex Smith and the Rain Dogs will appear.

Paul Flipowicz makes a rare Northwoods appearance, playing the Black Bear Bar, in Minocqua.
