Rolling Stone Lake Protection and Rehabilitation District will host their 27th annual Labor Day picnic Sunday, September 5, from 11:00 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. at the at the Rolling Stone P & R Building in Pearson. Wausau’s Artrageous weekend September 11-12 offers three free events – Art in
the Park, Festival of Arts in downtown Wausau, and Birds in Art at the Woodson
Art Museum.  All events are free and are linked by a handicapped-accessible,
shuttle bus service both Saturday and Sunday.  Other activities include live
music on three stages, children’s art activities, food and beverages, and a
scholarship silent auction to benefit area art students.  Contact the Woodson

Oneida County Sheriff’s Department will sponsor two hunter safety courses in September with the first scheduled for Monday, September 13, with a range day September 25. Classes will run from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., and the course includes five classroom sessions. There is a course fee, and participants must be 12 years of age or older. Central Wisconsin chapter of the National Stuttering Association meets Tuesday, September 14, at 6:30 p.m. at Highland Community Church in Wausau. The YMCA will be offering a teen learn to swim program on Wednesday nights starting September 15th from 6:00-6:45PM. This class is for teen’s ages 13-17 that are not comfortable in the water or would like to learn the fundamentals of swimming. For more information 715-362-9622.
 
The Woodson Art Museum is offering a three-day Madison excursion to explore
cultural attractions Wed-Fri, October 6-8. The itinerary features art,
history, and cultural destinations, along with theater and restaurant visits.
 Highlights include: the Museum of Contemporary Art, Wicked at the Overture
Center, the Aldo Leopold Nature Center and the Frank Lloyd Wright Visitor

WXPR’s Fall Auction and Concert is Sunday, September 26th at Holiday Acres Resort. The auction this year will feature the talented and fun music of Michael Lee Ammons and the Water Street Hot Shots. The Water Street Hot Shots are back due to popular demand. They are a hard working traditional string blues band from Milwaukee. This day begins with the silent auction preview at 3:00 PM. At 4:00PM join us for the live auction and music. You will be able to bid on the very finest in pottery, watercolors, oil paintings, jewelry, basketry, photography, weaving, quilting, wood carving and more. Admission is $10.00, but complimentary wine and hors d'oeuvres will be available. This year's auction is sponsored by Diel Insurance Group and West Bend, the Silver Lining.

Friendly Village at 900 Boyce Drive in Rhinelander will host the second annual Warm for Winter event Saturday, October 2, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The program offers warm clothing and bedding for those in need at no charge. Treehaven will present a Snowshoe Furniture Weaving workshop November 13. This day long class teaches the weaving pattern and knot used in traditional snowshoe making to create a folding snowshoe rocker.
