National Wolf Awarness Week Begins Oct. 14

Timber Wolf Alliance spokesperson Radley Watkins says there is much to learn about wolves. Experts will be in the woods next weekend to teach about wolf population surveys...
"...on Saturday(October 13) we're going to have a wolf-tracking workshop lead by members of the DNR. We're going to go out and learn how radio telemetry is used to track wolves in the wild and how the DNR uses data from wolves they have trapped and collared...."
Watkins says the public can literally go out and howl for wolves...
".....we have a wolf-howling workshop on October 16. We're going to go out in the woods and howl for wolves and hope that wolves respond. It's a survey technique used by the DNR and is usually fun for people..."
On October 18, there will be a discussion on the movie "Green Fire", showing the thoughts of naturalist Aldo Leopold and with pizza.
