Booze and Belts Push By Law Enforcement

"Booze and Belts" is a national 10-day traffic safety mobilization with funding here through the state DOT. The effort begins Friday and runs through December 16.
One of the participating departments is the city of Eagle River. Police Chief Mark Vander Bloomen says a grant will help put more presence on the street...
Chief Vander Bloomen says the message is clear...don't drink and drive and buckle up.
Last year in Wisconsin there were 35,000 convictions for drunk driving and nearly 85,000 convictions for failure to fasten safety belts.
