Holiday Season Also Includes Tax Bills

Posted 12/29/2012

Treasurer Kris Osterman says you should have your tax bill....

"....people should have received their 2012 tax bills by now. If they have not, they should contact their town or municipality treasurer. If they can't find them and they have to get a copy of the taxbill we can help them or they can check the website for the information..."

You must pay at least the first installment listed on the tax bill before January 31 to the town or city treasurer. Osterman says not paying by that date will cost you more...

"....they will have to be paid by January 31(if not paid by Jan.31), it will be subject to penalty and interest of one-and-a-half percent per month. The first installment has to be paid by January 31...."

Osterman says check your statement to see if you received the lottery and gaming credit. If not on your bill, contact your local treasurer to get a claim form.
