Salvation Army Short Of Goal

Kim Swisher details the public donation....
"....we have reached $28,000 which is slightly less than our goal of $36,000. We are still reaching out to people and encouraging them to make a donation...."
Swisher says the majority of the money helps people in our communities....
"....86 cents of every dollar stays right here to help with housing, transportation and healthcare..."
Swisher says local relief efforts are supported by the donations...
"....there are churches that assist people in emergency need. Housing vouchers, for example, if it's appropriate to refer someone to the homeless shelter the Salvation Army will assist in helping out. If there is a fire or natural disaster we will put the family or individuals up at a local hotel..."
