WPS Scholarship Deadline Approaching

Scholarships are offered from the Wisconsin Public Service Foundation to students who are high school seniors, continuing college students, returning adults, or minorities or females.
WPS spokesperson Leah Van Zile says those eligible should check into the program...
"....the students are eligible to receive up to a $1,500 award per year based on their academic achievement leadership and school activities and financial needs. So it's really a combination of all of those things that goes into determine what the award amount is..."
Van Zile says students should check this week with their guidance counselor, or more information is at Wisconsin Public Service dot com. Last year, Wisconsin Public Service Foundation awarded over 160 scholarships, with the recipients receiving more than $140,000. Van Zile says the money for the scholarships comes from donations by shareholders to the WPS Foundation and not from electric or gas customers.
