Vilas Sheriff Ups Patrols for St. Patty's

Lieutenant Dale Soltow says the DOT grant runs from today through March 20th...
"....what they're going to be doing is deploying extra patrol to combat drunk driving and also patrol the violations of seat belts..."
Soltow says the patrols are designed to keep the highways safe during a busy time....
"...so the public is seeing the presence of extra law enforcment and then they know the consequences of what can happen with drinking and driving..."
As part of the statewide amped-up enforcement, the DOT's Zero In Wisconsin safety campaign is also offering a "Drive Sober" app for smart phones. The app gives locations for taxi service, a blood alcohol content estimator, a designated driver selector and other remidners. The free download is at zeroinwisconsin.gov
