The chair of the Mole Lake Sokaogon Chippewa Community has rejected a plea deal and will go to trial on charges related to a incident at the tribal offices last summer.
53 year old Chris McGeshick is charged with two felonies, false imprisonment and intimidating a witness, and two misdemeanors.
At a court hearing Thursday, an offer by District Attorney Charles Simino for a plea deal was rejected and McGeshick requested a jury trial. Trial was set for July 30.
A dispute with a former tribal employee allegedly led to the confrontation which led to the charges. The tribal council later backed McGeshick, saying when the evidence is brought it it would clear McGeshick.
