Eagle River Approves BID Tax, Contracts

The final 2016 Eagle River budget approved Tuesday night by the city council will include for the eight year a special assessment in the downtown business improvement district of $0.95 per $1,000 of assessed value.

It is expected to raise $81,000 for the Main Street program. The city also will allow use of city hall space at no cost. While most properties in the city will see a tax rate of $8.37, up from $8.02, those in the business improvement district will have a tax rate of $9.32.

Also approved was the ambulance service agreement with Ministry Eagle River River Memorial Hospital totaling $250,912. The Eagle River share is $53,909.55, Town of Lincoln $95,800.05, Town of Washington $57,511.35, Town of Cloverland $40,59.40, Town of Hiles $3,132.00.

Contracts totaling $23,500 were also approved for engineering work by MSA Professional Services for street reconstruction and Community Development Block Grant application.

Finally, Eagle River will be seeking a new manager for the golf course clubhouse bar and restaurant. Persons interested should contact city administrator Joe Laux at city hall.
