Eagle River Man Arrested For Child Porn, Weapons

Vilas County Sheriff's Dept.

A 37 year old Eagle River man has been charged with 10 counts of possessing child pornography and two counts of being a felon possessing a firearm.

Attorney General Brad Schimel said they arrested Ryan A. Frederick.

Frederick was charged August 8 in Vilas County State agents were assisted by the Vilas County Sheriff’s Office and Eagle River Police Department. Schimel says the speed of this investigation would not have been possible without Alicia’s Law, legislation which passed this last session. Alicia’s Law created an administrative subpoena process that expedites the procedure for finding the location of suspected internet sex predators and provides additional funding to the Internet Crimes Against Children program.

Cash bond of $5,000 was set for Frederick along with conditions including not having contact with minors. Frederick will next be in Vilas County Court on August 20.
