State health officials say the flu season is getting an early start in Wisconsin.

State Health Officer Karen McKeown says they've already heard reports of flu cases and hospitalizations.

Locally, Oneida County Health Department spokesperson Maria Otterholt says they're holding a series of flu clinics around the county beginning this week, and for the next two months.

"...we have plenty of locations throughout the county different times we advertise here. No appointment is necessary for that, you just walk in to one of those clinics and one of our nurses will give you a flu shot that evening...."

Thursday( at 11:00 a.m. will be the next clinic at the Sugar Camp town hall from 11:00 a.m. until noon. After that the department will be at Nokomis, Cassian, Three Lakes High School, Holy Family Catholic Church in Woodruff, Rhinelander High School and James Williams Middle School in October, and Lakeland Union High School and M-H-L-T school in November. Contact the Oneida County Health Department for more information, 715-369-6111.
