It's primary election day in Wisconsin. The primary is designed to narrow down the number of candidates from parties to one to represent the party in the November. While some years this election barely draws the public's attention, several hotly contested races are featured.

Voters must selected a party to vote on. While Wisconsin doesn't require voters to register with a party designation, you are required during a primary election to only vote for one party. National, state and a few local contests are featured.

Democrats will narrow to one candidate the person who will challenge Republican incumbent Sean Duffy for the 7th Congressional seat.

Republicans will choose one candidate to take on Democrat Tammy Baldwin for the U.S. Senate seat.

Statewide, Governor Walker has a Republican challenger and several Democrats running to challenge Walker will be narrowed to one.

There are statewide offices being contested for Secretary of State and Treasurer.

Locally, there are three Sheriff's races that have drawn interest. In Oneida county three Republicans are vying for the job along with a Constitution Party candidate. In Forest county there is a challenge to the incumbent sheriff, and there's a race in Lincoln County. Lincoln county also has a contested race for coroner.

Polls will close at 8 p.m. and we'll have results tonight after 9 p.m.
