Jayme Closs Found Alive-Suspect In Custody

Barron County Sheriff's Department

(Town of Gordon, WI) -- A northwestern Wisconsin couple says they answered a knock at their front door to find a neighbor with a skinny, dirt-covered girl with matted hair standing there.

The neighbor shouted -- "This is Jayme Closs -- call 9-1-1!"

Kristin and Peter Kasinskas say the 13-year-old who has been missing for nearly three months was quiet. She had been found in a small wooded area about six miles east of the Town of Gordon. The teen had been missing since October 15th -- the day the murdered bodies of her parents were discovered. A suspect was arrested shortly after authorities were called. He has been identified as 21-year-old Jake Thomas Patterson of Gordon.

Gordon is about 40 miles south of  Superior and about 65 miles north of Barron. That is where Closs is from and where her parents were killed in October.
