Langlade Co. Snowmobile Crash Victim Identified

A Merrill woman has been identified as the person killed when her snowmobile crashed with a car.

The Langlade County Sheriff's Department reports 41-year-old Jodie R. Rethaber was killed when the snowmobile crashed with a car near Langlade county "Q" and Highway 17 in the Town of Parrish Saturday night.

Rethaber died at the scene.

The driver reported no injuries. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash. There have been 14 deaths on snowmobiles in Wisconsin during the current snowmobile season.

Rethaber's death was one of five snowmobile-related deaths across Wisconsin over a two-day stretch. Riders also died in Iron, Calumet, Dunn, and Forest counties Friday and Saturday.
