A free car seat inspection sponsored by the Oneida County Health Department is set for Monday at the Rhinelander Fire Department.

".....three out of four car seats are not used correctly. We often find safety things that are not quite up to what they're supposed to be doing. It's more than just making sure the car seat is in tightly...."
Cars seats, booster seats and seat belts are the law in Wisconsin. Klink says it's often difficult for parents and caregivers to decide which seat is best for their child. Klink says they often find that people know about safely buckling their children in, but aren't doing it the safest way....
"...there are other things to look at when installing a car seat properly. Making sure you have the correct car seat for the age, weight and height for the child..."
She says cars seats will be avaialbe based on need and income eligibility. The inspection is Monday, June 6 from 4 to 6 p.m. If you can't make the event the website safekidswi.org has more information.
