Northwoods United Way Halfway to Goal

United Way

The Northwoods United Way is making it's final push to reach its $165,000 goal.

Northwoods United Way Executive Director Nancy Sattler says they are halfway to reaching the goal with about four weeks left to go.

She says community donors are helping out...

"....one really cool thing going on right now is if you go CoVantage Credit Union in either Rhinelander or Crandon in the next week, and you donate to the Northwoods United Way, their foundation is going to match your gift. So your $50 gift becomes $100. It's such a great way to make your donation dollars go even further in our area...."

She says the money goes to help area agencies...

"..right now we're supporting 27 different human service agencies in the Northwoods. They are counting on us to continue to provide that support in 2018. One of the nice things about giving to Northwoods United Way is when you support this agency, your dollar is actually combined with others to support 27 different agencies in their counties...."

Sattler says you can monitor how much money has been donated at their thermometers place in Oneida, Vilas and Forest counties. She says people can go to the website northwoods united way dot org or call 715-202-4344.

There are 1,800 community-based United Ways in 45 countries and territories.
