The renovation of the Oneida County Humane Society building on Rhinelander's north side is on schedule for completion this fall.

Board officer Sue Otis says the renovation project has been moving forward as expected...

"....The interior walls are up, the drywall is going on, the plumbing and electrical are being put in. Within a month we should be pretty close to finishing the new addition. After that, they will begin the renovation on the existing building...."

The projected cost for the expansion came in just under $600,000.

Sue Otis says she thinks the renovation and expansion will be completed sometime in October. She says the expansion has caused a few parking problems, but people are working around those.

The Oneida County Humane Society is having a "Party for the Pets", Sunday, August 12 from 3:00-7:00 p.m. at Rocky's Roadhouse. She says there's no admission but donations of pet food and supplies are welcomed. The band "Almost Relevant" will be playing.

More information is available through the Oneida County Humane Society in Rhinelander or on their Facebook page.
