Public Hearing Set For Forest Co. Off-Road Park

en.wikipedia.org

A public hearing about a proposed Off-Road Park in Forest county is set for early February.

Wisconsin Off-Road Park, Incorporated will be holding the first public hearing February 8 at the Laona School gymnasium.

Forest County Economic Development Partnership Director Jim Schuessler says there will be a presentation on the proposal, then open mike time...

"....anyone is invited that wants to provide commentary. There will be a registration period at 2:30 p.m. The hearing will start promptly at 3:00 p.m....it's scheduled from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. If there are people(after 4:00) who want to speak, no one will be turned away..."

A group in 2003 first proposed an Off-Road Park in Forest county.

Promoters say the large park would draw visitors from across the U.S. and the money they bring. But others say Forest county is investing money in a project that might not come to reality. Forest County has set up a committee on the Off-Road Park. The county board has invested $40,000 into the project.

Doors will open February 8 at the Laona school at 2:30 p.m.
