A Rhinelander man has been charged in federal court with three counts of mail fraud and one count of identity theft.
42 year old John E. Henricks the third is the owner of Custom Collision...a Rhinelander auto body repair shop and three vehicle-towing businesses, Rick's Towing, Tom's Towing and Hodag Towing.
Federal prosecutors say Henricks is alleged to have devised a scheme to defraud car insurance companies. The complaint alleges Henricks filed a false insurance claim using the identity of another person. The indictment also alleges that Henricks used one vehicle damage incident to make multiple claims with different car insurance companies. Henricks is alleged to have received nearly $20,000 from three different insurance agencies.
Henricks faces a maximum penalty of 20 years in federal prison on each mail fraud count, and a maximum penalty of two years in federal prison on the identity theft count. The charges against Henricks are the result of an investigation by the Oneida County Sheriff’s Department and Federal Bureau of Investigation.
