Rhinelander's New Administrator Meets The Public

WXPR

Rhinelander's new City Administrator faced the public for the first time this week as he begins his job.

Daniel Guild gave his background, which includes an advanced degree from Michigan State University.

Guild asked the citizens a series of questions about what they want from the City of Rhinelander...

"...is there something that concerns you about the values of your homes, or the experiences your children are having here, or your quality of life? All those ideas, your comments, will be truly appreciated because I have a lot to learn. I have a lot to learn about this place, about the history here. I have a lot to learn about you as citizens and community members. It's a big chore, one that is exiting and I'm looking forward to getting into...."

He said he wants to listen to the public to learn about their concerns. He was asked questions about budgets among several topics.

Sara Guild, his spouse, is a member of the Marathon County Board. They have three children. Guild says he won't be moving to Rhinelander right away until his family completes obligations in the Wausau area. His oldest child is a senior in high school.

He served as village administrator in Wrightstown from 2007-2009. He resigned in 2012 as Poynette's village administrator after three years and spent six years in Weston, before they reached an agreement for him to leave the village administrator's job there. He was hired by Rhinelander earlier this month.
