Event Description

2020 Wildlife Category Winner: "Snowy Owl Fly By" by Richard Nagel

The Northwoods Wildlife Center is now accepting online submissions for the 2021 Photography Contest. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the gala portion of the event will not be held and voting will be done online. This is an amateur contest. Northwoods Wildlife Center retains the right to remove entries that are in violation of contest rules. Maximum file size is 10 megapixels per photo. File types accepted are JPG, JPEG, and PNG. The cost to enter is $15 per photo, and payment can be made online when submitting photos, or a check can be mailed to the Center, 8683 S. Blumenstein Rd., Minocqua, WI 54548. Public voting will take place through the PollUnit website, and a link will be provided on the Center’s website and Facebook page for access to voting. Voting will begin at 9 a.m. Monday, Feb. 15, and will close at 5 p.m. Monday, March 1. The top three finishers in each category will be emailed a certificate of accomplishment following the close of the People’s Choice voting. The top four North American Wildlife photographs are then eligible for the Photograph of the Year designation. A panel of judges will make the Photograph of the Year selection based on criteria of creativity and photo quality. More information on eligibility and submitting photos can be found at northwoodswildlifecenter.org under the “News and Events” tab. With questions, please contact Northwoods Wildlife Center Executive Director, Mickey Mueller at (715)356-7400 or at general@northwoodswildlifecenter.org
