Not one, but two high-speed chases in Oneida county has landed a Madison resident in jail.

The Oneida County Sheriff's Department reports a deputy began a traffic stop after a car was allegedly clocked at 92 miles per hour Sunday evening. A chase ensued, where the speeds allegedly hit 120 miles per hour. The driver then took off into the woods.

A passenger in the vehicle identified the driver as 25 year old Sanome Wheelock of Madison.

Wheelock allegedly tried to ram the squad car before heading into the woods.

Later, a resident on Lake Mildred road reported their vehicle stolen and saw the car speeding away on Highway 47. Wheelock was allegedly located in the stolen vehicle when a second high speed chase happened, this time with Oneida county and Woodruff police. That chase eneded when Wheelock's car collided with another vehicle and Wheelock again fled into the woods. He was later arrested.

Wheelock faces 7 traffic counts including second offense drunk driving and endangering safety. No one was injured in the melee. Wheelock will be in court Tuesday(10/24/17).
