The funeral and memorial service for crew members of the medical transport helicopter that crashed last week has caused officials to alert the public to increased traffic volumes.

The Ascension Wisconsin Spirit Medical Transport crashed in Hazelhurst late Thursday after making a transport to Madison. All three personnel on board were killed.

According to the Nimsgern Funeral and Cremation website, visitation for Gregory Rosenthal is set for 11:00 a.m. Thursday at their facility.

A special memorial ceremony to remember the lives of the flight nurse, flight paramedic and pilot, who were fatally injured in an accident last week. The ceremony will include a presentation by the Honor Guard, reflections and a flyover. A live Facebook webcast of the memorial will be available. That service will be Friday from 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church on County "J" in Woodruff. Besides Rosenthal, also killed were the pilot Rico Caruso, and flight nurse Klint Mitchell.

Woodruff Police Chief Leonard Drewsen says the public should be aware of increased traffic volumes along Highway 51 north from Wausau to Woodruff and along County "J" and Highway 47 in Woodruff both Thursday and Friday.
