WJFW TV reports Langlade county will work toward building an ATV/snowmobile bridge across the Wolf River at Langlade.
The county Forestry committee Wednesday accepted a DNR grant to build the bridge along Highway 64. More than 100 supporters for the Wolf River recreational bridge attended the meeting.
The ATV'ers wanted a way to more easily connect trails between Langlade and Oconto counties and a safer passage than using the Highway 64 bridge.
Only one person spoke in opposition.
Committee members unanimously approved the grant, but more steps are needed before the project can become a reality. The next action is getting the state's approval on the proposed route of the bridge. The project is said to be entirely funded by the grant and through donations.
