DOT Sets Meeting Prior To Pine St. Construction In Eagle River

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation is holding a construction information meeting later this month to discuss work on busy US 45 in Eagle River , known as the Pine Street project.

DOT Project Manager Jesse Jefferson says the meeting is about communication..

"The goal of the meeting is to introduce the local property owners and businesses along the corridor, along with any other residents an opportunity to meet the project team and discuss the construction time lines and the impacts of the project..."

Jefferson says business owners want to know how construction will impact things like deliveries and access to property. During construction, traffic will be limited to one lane in each direction. Narrow lanes and flagging operations may be used at times to allow for work operations. The project is set to begin in early August and end in early October.

Jefferson says the project is a little over a mile long. An unusual aspect of the project is the reduction of traffic lanes...

"..This project will have a lane reconfiguration that goes from four lanes to three lanes. In other words, two lanes in each direction down to one lane in each direction with a dedicated center turn lane..."

The meeting is Tuesday, July 30, from 5 to 6 p.m. in the Community Room of the Walter E. Olson Memorial Library, on N. Main Street in Eagle River. A brief presentation will be given at the start of the meeting.
