Bond has been set for the Michigan man who allegedly was involved in a high-speed chase Sunday made an appearance this week in Oneida County Circuit Court.
47 year old Kevin Block of Portage, Michigan is charged with one felony and several misdemeanors.
A complaint from WalMart in Rhinelander led to a search for Block. When a Rhinelander police officer tried to stop Block's vehicle, he allegedly sped off at a high rate of speed on Highway 17 north. Oneida County joined the chase. Vilas county put a device on the road to stop Block's vehicle. The vehicle swerved off the road and hit some trees.
Block was airlifted to a Wausau Hospital after the crash. No other injuries were reported. When Block was arrested, it was said there was an outstanding warrant from Michigan, but the judge did not address that issue.
Judge Patrick O'Melia set a $7,500 cash bond. An adjourned initial appearance scheduled for July 25.
