The public has been notified of potential danger after what authorities believe to be a controlled-substance death in the Town of Newbold.
The Oneida County Sheriff's Department reports they were called Tuesday morning to the unidentified Newbold residence at 9:44 a.m.
Investigators determined the death was believe to be from a controlled substance, but said the substance was obtained in the Oneida county area and posed a potential threat to the public.
The Sheriff's Department and the coroner are investigating the death.

NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release – Tuesday, August 27, 2019 Town of Newbold-
On Tuesday, August 27, 2019 at approximately 9:44 a.m., the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office received a call reporting a person had been found deceased within their home. Preliminary findings suggest the death occurred due to a controlled substance. We are notifying the public for their safety, as we believe the person obtained the control substance in the Oneida County area.
Oneida County Deputies along with the Oneida County Ambulance, the Newbold First Responders, and the Oneida County Medical Examiner’s Office responded to the scene. The Oneida County Sheriff’s Office and the Oneida County Medical Examiner’s continue to investigate the death at this time.
