Eagle River’s vintage and snowmobile derby is one of town’s biggest events drawing in thousands of people from around the Midwest. The vintage derby is set to start Friday and will run through Sunday with the snowmobile derby next weekend to conclude snowmobile week. Chamber Director Kim Emerson says the events are huge economy boosters for the town.
“…and with that, both of the events are bringing more and more people to the area, especially vintage. That’s grown tremendously over the years and derby; we always look forward to 20 to 30,000 people attending that event.”
Emerson says this year’s event is panning out to be like previous years. She says local hotels and resorts are completely booked.
The derbies will be held at the AMSOIL Championship Derby Track in Eagle River; gates open at 9am. For a list of times and schedules of the derbies visit derbytrack.com
