The next in a series of events designed to raise money to fight cancer happens this weekend.
"Bark For Life Northwoods," will be at the Rhinelander-Oneida County Airport to raise money for the American Cancer Society.
Local Cancer Society representative Diane Geis Hapka says Bark for Life is a canine component to the 'Relay For Life' fundraiser…
“…if you’ve even heard the words “you have cancer” whether you’re in a remission period or not you are considered a survivor and we would like to recognize those people that have brought their dogs with as canine caregivers as well.”
Geis Hapka says their first year they were the top event in Wisconsin and raised $4,700. Last year they were the top fundraiser in the Midwest Division Bark For Life. There is a website to find out more information and to register at Relayforlife. org/ Bark Northwoods.
