Memorial Service Planned For Pickerel Fire Victims

National Park Service

TOWN OF PICKEREL, Langlade county (WSAU) -- A memorial service will be held this weekend for the six people killed in a Langlade County house fire two weeks ago.

Family members confirmed to USA Today Wisconsin this week that 32-year-old Raymond Michiel was among those that died along with his 18-month-old daughter Jazmin. Raymond's girlfriend Amanda Bocek Bailey also died along with her two sons- three-year-old Johnny and seven-year-old Nathan. Johnny and Nathan came from a previous relationship. Bailey and Michiel were the parents of Jazmin.

The last victim of the blaze was ten-month-old Zoe Munoz Soto, she was identified immediately after the blaze. Her parents were able to get out of the home with minor injuiries. Bailey had another son who was not home at the time of the incident, according to Michiel's father.

The families were planning a joint memorial service for July 13th at the Praise Chapel in Crandon. Visitation will be held from 9 AM to noon followed by a service.

Two GoFundMe accounts have been set up for the victims. Additionally, an account for the families has been set up at CoVantage Credit Union.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation but officials say they don't see anything suspicious about the incident. The incident happened on County Road DD in the Town of Pickerel.
