Legislation introduced Tuesday would allow financial advisors and bankers to delay questionable transaction by their senior clients.
State Senator Patrick Testin and Representative John Macco introduced bills to increase the criminal penalties for elder abuse. The Republican lawmakers cited data from the Wisconsin Department of Health Services which shows the number of elder abuse cases in the state growing by 160 percent since 2001.
If passed, judges would have to speed up court proceedings in cases involving elder victims.
