Price County Reports First COVID-19 Positive Case

The Price County Health and Human Services Department confirmed its first case of COVID-19 on Friday.

The person has a history of travel within the United States and has been self-isolating since returning home.

Health Officer Michelle Edwards said the department is in contact with the person, monitoring their symptoms.

“There is no need for the public to panic.  We have been preparing for a case of COVID-19 in Price County and are taking the necessary steps to limit further spread,” Edwards said.

The department is following up with close contacts of the infected individual to provide guidance.

In the Northwoods, Lincoln, Langlade, and Forest counties remain without COVID-19 positive cases.

Oneida County now has six cases, and Vilas County has four.

Iron County had one positive test.  The individual died.
