Area artists can have their artwork on display for no charge this week at ArtStart in Rhinelander as part of their annual "Free For Wall" exhibit.

Program and Operations Director Ashley McLaughlin says it provides an opportunity for area artists to exhibit their work in a gallery setting...

"....The art has to be hangable, wall mounted, ready to go. It needs to be original. The maximum size is 24 by 48 inches. You can submit one piece and anything that fits within those specs we will take and hang in our gallery...."

McLaughlin says the exhibition allows amateur and professional artists in this area to participate in a non-juried group exhibition. Drop off dates for the artwork is tomorrow, Thursday and Friday at ArtStart. The exhibit will run until early February when the public can meet the artists...

"We will have a closing reception on Saturday, February 8 from 5-7 p.m. It's open to the public where people can come in and hopefully meet some of the artists. We will have a cash bar and some light snacks at the event. After that closing reception the artists can take their work home with them..."
