Community Job Fair Set For Tuesday In Rhinelander

Department of Workforce Development

It's being billed as a Community Fair, but jobs will be the emphasis as the Northern Advantage Job Center in Rhinelander hosts the event Tuesday.

Several of the state's job centers are hosting similar events this week.

The Rhinelander Center's Employment and Training Specialist Jenny Kowalczyk says the fair will feature at least 11 area employers but is not the typical job fair...

"....October 15, we're having a fall community fair, but it's not your typical job fair. It's going to be a community event as well. We're going to have some community resoureces here. We're going to have some events for children to come. It's an overall event to let people know we do have decent paying jobs, we do have some resources..."

Kowalczyk says the event is open to anyone...

"We're really targeting it to anyone who is wanting employment, looking for additional skills, looking to maybe go back to school. One of the main focuses is toward working families. It's difficult in the area to find child care. We do have employers coming where you can work from home. Some offer weekend incentives...."

She says there will be manufacturers, retail, healthcare, work-from-home companies. Kowalczyk says contact the Northern Advantage Job Center on Brown Street in Rhinelander for more information. The event is Tuesday afternoon from 1-5 p.m. at the center.
