A conference this week focuses on networking and skill sharing for women in business.
It’s hosted by Nicolet College and the Northwoods Women in Businessnetworking group.
Organizer Michelle Madl-Soehren says the one-day conference is designed for women already involved in business or thinking of starting one.
“I think it’s filling a need that women are looking for in the area - this just kind of opens up that door, that window of opportunity of where do I begin, who do I talk to that’s in the same situation that I’m in.”
It’s the first year the conference has been held. The schedule includes two keynote speakers and several breakout sessions.
Madl-Soehren says many of the topics like social media and business loan basics aren’t specific to women…but it can help to learn those skills from other women in the field.
“Having a day like this just brings these women together to network and to share ideas and concerns, and perhaps even come up with some solutions and new ideas.”
