DNR Offers Live Chats to Answer Hunter's Questions

Hunters around the Northwoods looking for an easy way to learn more about their hobby are reminded to join the Department of Natural Resources staff for live chats throughout the coming months.

Public Affairs Manager for the Fish, Wildlife and Parks division of the DNR, Sawyer Briel says the live chats on the DNR’s website are easy to use.

“It’s pretty intuitive to be honest.. So for example if right before noon on the 10th you wanted to head to the chat it’ll just ask you to either enter your name or if you’d like to be entered as guest that's fine too. And you just type in your question and hit submit and you will see it on the live feed you’ll see your question be answered right in front of you.. So it’s kind of like a scrolling message bar.”

Briel says they’ll cover different topics in each chat including information about tags, new regulations, a hunting season forecast, as well as safety and more.

The next chats are scheduled for Wednesday, August 10th, Tuesday, August 16th  and Thursday, November 10th. All chats begin at noon on the DNR’s website.

To view a full chat schedule and check out previous chats, visit dnr.wi.gov and search keyword “expert”.
