Forest County Drug Task Force Arrests Two Men for Possession of Methamphetamine

Forest County Sheriff's Office

The Forest County Drug Task Force arrested two men Saturday for felony possession of methamphetamine, felony possession of methamphetamine paraphernalia and multiple counts of bail jumping.

The drug task force stopped 41-year-old William Gehring of Rhinelander and 41-year-old Brian Steinert of Argonne in their car just after 5 p.m. Saturday evening in the Town of Argonne.

The Forest County K9 Unit indicated drugs were in the car.

The Forest County Sheriff's Office said detectives found 8.5 grams of methamphetamine, controlled prescription pills, drug paraphernalia, a firearm, tasers and a large amount of cash.

Gehring was arrested for possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver, in addition to the other charges.

He’s being held in the Forest County Jail on a $10,000 cash bond.

Steinert, who was the passenger of the vehicle, has been released from custody after posting a $3,000 bond.
