After announcing his candidacy for the U.S. House of Representatives in Wisconsin's 7th Congressional District in February, Kyle Frenette announced Friday that he is withdrawing his candidacy for personal reasons. Frenette said it 'wasn't my time'.
Frenette is the manager of the band Bon Iver.
He says due to unforeseen circumstances in his life, Frenette says he will not be able to continue the campaign. He says he will support the winner of the Democratic primary in August for the opportunity to challenge Republican incumbent Sean Duffy of Wausau. The 46 year old Duffy has been in office since January of 2011.
Five Democrats are running to unseat Duffy. They include David Beeksma, Margaret Engebretson, Brian Ewert, Bob Look and D.F. Paulaha.
The Democratic primary is August 14, where one candidate will be selected to challenge Duffy November 6.
