Grant Enables Nicolet College To Give Three Free Credits To Certain New Students

Nicolet College

Students who qualify can get a portion of their Nicolet College education paid for after a private donation was received at Nicolet.

District Mutual Insurance provided the funding to underwrite the three credit offer says Nicolet Dean of Enrollment Erika Warning-Meyer. She explains who is eligible...

"Students need to be new students at Nicolet, and they will have to be unemployed for any period after March 13,2020. We know it's a really difficult time now for students and some of our students have been affected by the COVID-19 national emergency..."

Warning-Meyer says students can apply to more than 60 programs they offer....

"This is a first-come, first-served program. It's available while we have funding available so we're encouraging students now to apply for the fall semester. If they're interested we're asking they go to our website nicoletcollege.edu/threeforfree where they can find the application to let us know they're interested and we'll help them with the rest of the process...."

Other qualifications include presenting proof of unemployment, and earn a grade of C or better in the class. Nicolet also has other financial assistance programs available for both new and returning students. The Emergency Student Financial Assistance program is for students facing unexpected and immediate financial hardship.

Funds from this program can be used for gas cards, automotive repairs, utility bills, childcare, food, medical care, and other expenses. You can also call the main desk at the college for more information.
