Grow North Looking For Business Investors To Aid Northwoods Economy

Grow North Regional Economic Development Corporation

Grow North Economic Development Corporation is looking to attract more businesses and others as it designs future efforts to tackle.

Grow North began in 2004 as a private-public non-profit  organization dedicated to economic development in northern and northeastern Wisconsin. The region includes Forest, Florence, Marinette, Lincoln, Langlade, Oconto, Oneida, and Vilas counties.

Executive Director Brittany Beyer says Grow North supports the local economic development corporations in the counties and also address region issues as best as possible.

"...We do that through businesses and individuals investing in our operations and the events that we host to address those needs...."

Beyer says they want businesses in the eight counties to become members of Grow North. She says they have some initiatives on the horizon. One is "Inspire Grow North

" ...tying local businesses to our local school system to understand the employment opportunities right here in our backyard. Business who see that as an opportunity to address some of their needs. We're working diligently on workforce development in the area...."

She says businesses that believe we need to solve broadband and cellular problems along with workforce development should consider joining Grow North. She says she's hearing from every economic development corporation the need for workforce development, so they're developing programs to attract and maintain a quality workforce because the employees enjoy the Northwoods.
