WXPR's loss is Habitat For Humanity's gain.
Dave Havel, who had been WXPR's Development Director for the past four years, has joined Habitat For Humanity, Northwoods as it's Executive Director.
Havel has a financial services business background in Rhinelander having worked in banking, real estate, and financial planning. He is Lieutenant Governor Elect of the District of Kiwanis and current board member of the YMCA of the Northwoods.
A house assembled by Rhinelander high school trades classes was placed last week on Rhinelander's west side and Havel says they need more help to complete that build..
"...Right now we're in the process of finishing the house so we're looking for volunteers to complete the house which we're trying to do by the end of August. Once that house is completed we're on to the next house. We're looking for a site, whether it's Oneida or Vilas counties. We're going to be looking for a qualified applicant. That's what we do with Habitat for Humanity...."
Habitat for Humanity Northwoods Wisconsin is dedicated to eliminating substandard housing locally and worldwide through constructing, rehabilitating and preserving homes; by advocating for fair and just housing policies; and by providing training and access to resources to help families improve their shelter conditions.
