Large Downtown Park Falls Redevelopment Approved

City of Park Falls

A $4 million downtown revitalization project for Park Falls was approved this week by the common council.

The plan includes buying blighted properties, relocating businesses, environmental remediation and other steps to develop what is known as the "City Center" park, located at the corner of Highays 13 and 182.

This follows a commitment from Forward Bank for the project.

City Hall's proposed new location would be Forward Banks' current facility at the corner of Division Street 2nd Avenue North.

The city intends to spur new facade improvements through Tax Incremental Financing. Mayor Michael Bablick said it is the largest private investment in the community in decades, possibly ever. He says the redevelopment of the blighted properties into the new "City Center" and other efforts will give a boost to the area. The mayor and council are seeking public input on the project.

More information is available at Park Falls City Hall.
