A series of candidate forums planned by the League of Women Voters set for this month have been cancelled due to the Covid-19 situation.
The League had planned candidate forums on March 16 and March 18. The Rhinelander City Council (Districts 3 and 7) Forum was to be held on Monday, March 16, at the Rhinelander District Library. The Oneida County Board (District 11) Forum was to be held onWednesday, March 18, at the Crescent Town Hall.
The press release says the League is assuming that many of the people attending and participating inthe Forum, both candidates, our staff and the public would be in the “high risk”population for the Coronavirus.
League officials had reached out to health professionals who recommended to be cautious. The League recommends using the Vote411 Candidates Guide, which all forum participants have participated in.
The League also had previously cancelled another Oneida county forum.
