Planning to upgrade a section of a major Northwoods highway is underway and the public is invited to a meeting in Price county.
The DOT is hosting a public meeting soon to discuss proposed improvements to State Highway 13 in Phillips. DOT project manager Jesse Jefferson says the project is set for 2022. They will provide the public with an overview and possible alternatives.
He details the project...
"...Do a resurfacing project essentially through all of Phillips which is county 'D' on the south end and county 'F' on the north end. That would be a mill-and-overlay(pavement) project that would take care of all of the pavement between the curb-and-gutter. Also do some improvements to curb ramps and pieces of sidewalk..."
Property owners nearby and business owners are invited to attend. Jefferson says no detours are planned while construction is going on.
The meeting is Wednesday, January 8 beginning at 5 p.m. at the Phillips City Council Room. A brief presentation begins at 5 p.m. with an open house format to follow.
