Meeting Tuesday To Deterimine Course of OC Fair

Oneida County Fair

A meeting is set for Tuesday(Nov. 18) that could have much to say about what direction the Oneida County Fair will be taking.

The public is invited to the strategic planning session.

The first fair was held in 1896 and has been in three locations in Rhinelander over the years and for awhile was in Lake Tomahawk. Most recently, it has been held in early August at Pioneer Park in Rhinelander.
Nancy Gehrig is Fair Coordinator. She says they need help in several areas...

"....what we're needing is the county, the city, the community, both looking for sponsorships for continuation of the fair and also for volunteers, people in the community willing to step up and volunteer..."

Gehrig hopes contributors come forward...

"....we're looking for sponsorships, mainly. People in the community that are willing to help us out, that are willing to step up with both in-kind and monetary. I've been the coordinator for the last two years and I can't thank the community enough for the in-kind and monetary donations they have given us thus far...."

Gehrig says they also need volunteers to serve as Fair committee members. The public is invited to  the planning session at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Quality Inn in Rhinelander. If you have questions, you can contact the Fair Committee Office at 715-365-2750.
