Under a new emergency order, additional nonessential businesses in Wisconsin will be able to provide limited services starting Wednesday.
Gov. Tony Evers directed Department of Health Services Sec.-designee Andrea Palm to sign the order Monday.
Starting Wednesday, nonessential businesses will be allowed to do curbside drop-off of goods and animals. Customers are still not allowed to enter these businesses.
This will allow businesses like dog groomers, small engine repair shops, upholstery businesses, and others to safely open, according to a release. The order also allows for outdoor recreational rentals like boats, kayaks, and ATVs.
Phone or online payment will be required for these transactions.
“No one wants to reopen our economy as much as I do, and we're working to do everything we can to make sure we can do so as soon as we safely and responsibly can. That's why today we announced a new order that, coupled with our Safer at Home order that went into effect last week, turns the dial a notch by allowing non-essential businesses to do more than they were able to do before,” said Evers in a release.
Evers’ overarching Safer at Home order remains in place through May 26.
