Fridays in downtown Rhinelander will include more live music starting in late July.

ArtStart Rhinelander located at 68 South Stevens Street has just built a brand new outdoor stage in the back of their building and they have plans for a six week concert series, to be held outside during the lunch hour.

Program & Operations Director Ashley McLaughlin says the concerts will start in late July and be held throughout all of August.

"We've got six weeks on Fridays where we'll be having outdoor concerts on our new stage from 11:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.," says McLaughlin. "We're hoping we can catch the whole lunch hour for everybody. They can grab a lunch downtown, grab a chair, listen to some music, and just get out of the office for a couple of hours."

The concerts are open to the public, but donations for the bands will be accepted.

McLaughlin says they have just started booking bands for the outdoor concert series. Scott Kirby, Boat Patrol, and Shoestring Joe and the Star Thief are some of the names to expect. Those interested in performing at the concert series can get in touch with Ashley McLaughlin at ArtStart Rhinelander.

McLaughlin also says they’re open to future collaborations with the outdoor stage, and those with ideas should also get in touch with her at ArtStart: amclaughlin@artstartrhinelander.org or (715) 362-4328.

The concert series is made possible with support from the Rhinelander Community Foundation.
