Three Lakes begins a new community music effort the weekend of September 21-22 with "North X(by)
Northwoods 3 Lakes Music Crawl."
Live music will be featured across the community those two days, says Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Sarah Flashing...
"...It's our first annual North by Northwoods event and we're going to have music everywhere. Right now we've booked around 10 musical acts around 10 different locations. It will be a variety of music, everything from Native American flutists, to rock bands, to polka. It's going to be a lot of fun...."
The idea is to bring people back to a community during a time when traditional summer visitors have gone home.
Sarah Flashing says the public can find out where the music is being booked by going to the website north x northwoods dot com and as the music is being booked at each location you can find out where the bands are playing and the times.
She says the public will be able to move around from venue to venue with a shuttle..
"....What's exciting is on Saturday, September 22, we will have a free shuttle running to the venues throughout Three Lakes, taking you from venue to venue to hear the music. You don't have to stay for two hours. You can bop back on the shuttle and go to another location. The shuttle will run from about noon to 11 p.m....."
Among the acts booked are rock band Wyatt and the Immortals, flutist Vicki Logan, Diamond Pepper, the Spotlight Polka Band, the Hollywoodz and Anthony Lux and Flashing says more will be coming on board.
